Responsible for the development and execution of all programmatic activities involving ranching and the management of livestock. Tasked with finding innovative ways to entice ranchers to participate in the preservation of Oregon's agricultural land base, while returning liquidity and other business based investments in the ranch to assist in stabilizing the livestock industry. Have recruited dozens of landowners to engage in conservation programs in regions which are known for this historic resistance to conservation initiatives. In so doing I've been able to gain historic federal funding awards in programs underutilized those regions and state.

In charge of the long-term development of strategic programs and partnership development. Worked with community governments towards the self-initiation, planning and funding of their own conservation programs. Developed relationship with and the foundations of dual-investment partnerships with private equity groups working in the environmental space.

Built the land protection program from having zero dedicated program funding and me as sole staff, to expending $5 to $17 million/year on programs and having a 4 person staff. Sought funds for acquisition, management and habitat restoration purposes through grants, foundation proposals and fee-for-service solutions. Created multiple large funding partnerships with federal and state agencies and local government. Directed NFLT's strategic conservation planning programs and coordinated the organization's targeted advocacy efforts. Was able to build the organization's programs from a point of near irrelevancy to being one of the most reputable land conservation programs in the State of Florida.Major accomplishments include:-The preservation of Big Talbot Island. A barrier island accessible by road from Jacksonville, and 40% of it was unpreserved. Negotiated the purchase of just over 1,000 acres of land, leaving the island now 95% preserved.-DoD Partnership. A funding partnership with the Camp Blanding National Guarded that has yielded more than $20 million in conservation funding.-Infill Acquisitions within NPS Lands. Negotiated the purchase or donation for almost all of the large remaining properties within the NPS's Timucuan Natural and Historic Preserve - more than 3,000 acres.-Protection of Fish Island. Fish Island was in Florida's Top 11 most threatened historic resources. Negotiated the purchase between a real estate developer developing a high net worth community, and the State of Florida, which was reluctant to believe it could be saved. Negotiated between all parties for a $6.5 million purchase. -Ocala-to-Osceola Wildlife Corridor. Launched a partnership towards developing a wildlife corridor which collected $50 million+ funding commitments in just two years.- Fee-for-Service - Established fee for service revenue models in conservation planning and parks acquisition for community governments which yielded multiple clients and non-profit revenue.

Kinship Conservation Fellows trains experienced conservationists in the use of market-based principles to address environmental challenges. The program’s ultimate aim is to see large-scale conservation outcomes related to increased health of environmental systems and reduced environmental threats.Kinship Conservation Fellows program offers intensive, in-residence instruction implementing market-based tools on conservation projects. During their month at Kinship, Fellows look beyond their technical and scientific capacities to understand the economic and business contexts influencing conservation worldwide.

Program Director and sole staff person for the Chattahoochee Valley Land Trust, my services contracted through the Georgia Land Trust.In this position I am responsible for negotiating, administering and closing a half dozen easements a year for CVLT, while fulfilling all their administrative and fundraising requirements. Also acted as a partner and liaison for the Fort Benning Army Compatible Use Buffering program, as a partner with the Nature Conservancy.

Managed conservation easement and general land protection programs for all of North and West Georgia, negotiating, administering and closing 30+ conservation easements. Also responsible for land stewardship in that region, as well act acting in a regional liaison capacity to all other conservation organizations within the state, hosting conservation easement and land protection classes.

Director of North Georgia Protection Program, encompassing all of Georgia North of I-85 West of Atlanta, North and East of I-75 to Macon and from Macon to Augusta. Primarily responsible for managing conservation easement acquisitions, funding opportunities, and public relations for this area. Also responsible for the crafting of ecological field reports pertaining to the easement process.

Primary responsibilities are the marketing of, initiation, negotiation and closing of conservation easement projects as well as the creation of biological field reports about each conservation easement. The position not only requires the ability to work with landowners, but to do basic field biology, work with advanced GIS and GPS mapping as well as survey research of biological reports.

Manager for the land trust's application for land trust accreditation, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance run by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. During this process I have reviewed all operational aspects of the organization and made suggestions on everything from mission formulation, strategic planning, Board development, staff and volunteer development and training, nonprofit management, non-profit tax laws, conservation easement drafting, land stewardship, investment practices, etc. Also acted as technology officer for the land trust, as well as took part in land acquisition and stewardship activities and grant administration.

Wrote grant applications for the competitive NYS Dept. of Agriculture and Markets Purchase of Development Rights Program and won awards totaling 2.7 million dollars; Worked with local government to initiate a community Greenspace Plan; Assisted in stewardship responsibilities, including the creation of baseline document reports; Aided in the writing of promotional materials, such as the newsletter, pamphlets, etc.; responsible for organization policy and project research.

Managed several hundred grant disbursements and projects for parks and recreational purposes under the state legislative member item grant program. Grants ranged from large grant projects for the City of Rochester to small grants for local little league associations.
