I am a highly motivated, soon-to-be Master's graduate. I have a great passion for many aspects of the engineering field, mainly focused on control systems, robotics, and aerospace. For the past two years, I've been working on my Master's Thesis at Electronic Systems Laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch, focused on the topic of improving place recognition in SLAM systems.I've had a passion for aerospace for about as long as I can remember, and from that grew an interest in robotics and autonomous systems. That led me to study Mechatronic Engineering for my undergraduate degree, providing that perfect mix of mechanical and electronic design. My passion has only grown since starting my research at the ESL, performing and surrounded by many fascinating research areas and like-minded individuals. I hope to one day work in the aerospace industry, designing or implementing robotic and autonomous systems in space-based applications.
