    As the first person serving in this position created by the former Vice President of Philanthropy, I am responsible for leading and securing private contributions to support the priorities of the University of Kentucky. With 30 years of experience in Institutional Advancement, I developed this position as one that works collaboratively across campus to help bring to life the philanthropic dreams of our closest alumni volunteers. Additionally, I launched and oversee the CASE Internship program through which UK strives to build a diverse pipeline of future advancement professionals. During this time, I added responsibilities to create and build an advancement program for the Office of Institutional Diversity and work closely with the Vice President of Institutional Diversity. I serve as the philanthropy liaison for DanceBlue and the Golden Matrix Fund. DanceBlue has become the largest student philanthropy event in the Southeastern Conference and one of the fastest growing dance marathons in the United States. Since the inception of this role, I have successfully secured just over $20M in private contributions and planned gifts from individual donors which support multiple programs across the university.

    As the Director of Philanthropy for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, I focused on coordinating and managing the $15M campaign for the UK Grain and Forage Center of Excellence. The College received a grant to expand the experiment station located in Princeton, KY of $15M which required a match of $15M through gifts and research expenditures. I organized a volunteer campaign advisory committee consisting of key alumni and corporate partners. During my tenure, over $6M was secured in contributions and research funds toward the match. Additionally, I secured a total of $14.9M in gifts and commitments for the college between July 2016 and May 2018. I provided guidance and assistance as needed to additional gift officers assigned to the college and served as an ex-officio member of the AG & HES Alumni Association Board and provided advice and assistance with alumni programming.

    As the Associate Director of Advancement and Director of Development for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, I served as the chief development officer and was responsible for procuring funds for 18 academic programs as well as multiple clubs and organizations associated with the college. During my tenure, my team and I secured over $62M in private contributions. Highlights of my work included leadership and oversight for philanthropy to The Arboretum (The State Botanical Garden of Kentucky), the Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Foundation, and the Cooperative Extension Service. I served as the liaison between the college and the Kentucky 4-H Foundation focusing on the coordination of fundraising efforts. I established the Commodity Gifts program for the University and was instrumental in launching the UK Plaid Project as well as the first University-managed crowd funding project which secured financial support for a research fund in equine health. I developed the Tobacco Settlement Match program whereby the college matched 1:2 private contributions to establish endowed scholarships with the tobacco buyout funds received by the college. This initiative resulted in a $2.4M increase in endowed scholarships and 90 new scholarship opportunities for students. Additionally, I established a scholarship stewardship program in coordination with the college's Office of Academic Success and moved the development office from using a shadow database to only working with the University software for development and alumni relations.

    As the director and at the request of the Assistant Vice President for Development, I reorganized the University's major gift office to reflect a geographical designation and donor-centered development program as well as implement a TOP Prospect Management System for the University. I coordinated management and communications between the University community and regional gift officers to create a strategy for donor prospects. I managed the efforts of the private foundations office to facilitate an honest broker system through identification and matching of University priorities and foundation guidelines. As the director, I provided leadership and oversight to the Special Programs Officer on fundraising efforts, including annual giving, major gifts, and volunteer relations as well as providing stewardship assistance to the Office of Academic Scholarships. I supervised University major gift officers assigned to a geographical region to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts (over $25,000) for the University. Additionally, I supervised the private foundation officer and project coordinator positions.

Additionally, I recruited, organized and provided leadership to community volunteers to execute major fundraising events for the institution. In this role I supervised the development operations of the College including but not limited to annual giving, alumnae relations, database management and donor relations. I worked directly with the Vice President of College Relations and Development and the President with prospect management. I managed the communications center which included the copy center, campus operator and the mail room. Along with volunteer leaders, I established the Ruth Slack Roach Leadership program which involved the selection of 12 student leaders who participated in servant-leadership training and community service while representing the College. I continued to serve as the advisor to the Student Alumnae Association and elevated their experience through their participation in CASE state and district ASAP conferences and training opportunities. During my tenure, the College completed a multi-million dollar campaign to construct the Lucille Little Library which was the first new building on campus in 20 years.
