I'm an Artist and music exec. My past includes serving as the managing director of Island Records, Island Music, Blue Mountain music as well as my own management co. As an artist I work with painters Scarlett Raven and Chris Hawkins making what we are told is the worlds first augmented reality fine art. Scarlett and I are signed to Washington Green and Castle Fine Art for the sale of our work in the U.K. Castle Fine Art are arguably the UK’s biggest retail gallery company with over 40 galleries across the UK. Chris and I are signed to Portfolio Fine Art for print and may we’ll be in 20 galleries in the UK which makes my work widely available to the UK public. In July 2016 Scarlett and I held an exhibition in London called 'The Danger Tree'. It was inspired by the battle of the Somme. It moved to Liverpools Martin Luther King museum in November 2016. The exhibition has now been held in nine locations in the UK including Manchester Central Library and The Titanic Exhibition in Belfast. The show has been visited by around 70,000 viewers. In November 2019 the exhibition opened at the National Army Museum in Chelsea in London and and for three months.My work with Chris Hawkins is soon to be launched in print. I was the MD of Island records from 1990 to 2000, during which time the label enjoyed significant success with PJ Harvey, Pulp, The Cranberries, Tricky, NIN, the Stereo Mc’s, PM Dawn, Talvin Singh, Elbow and Chakka Demus and Pliers amongst many others, and also the reinvention of U2 from Achtung Baby onwards.Before that I was a music publisher (from 1982 to 1990), running both Blue Mountain music and Island Music Publishing. Publishing signings included the M/A/R/R/S number 1 hit Pump up the volume, De La Soul and Massive Attack. Always committed to Chris Blackwell's vision of creative excellence, Island records achieved 13 nominations in the first eight years of the prestigious ‘Mercury Music prize top ten albums of the year’ awards. Artists signed by Island in the 1990's have won 25% of all the prizes awarded.I managed Richard Ashcroft, Paul Oakenfold, Yusuf Islam, and Lemon Jelly amongst others. I was the chairman of the Crown Talent and media group in London. I resigned in December 2018.
