Hey there! I'm Marco, a Computer Science undergrad at Lehigh University with a passion for all things backend engineering and databases. I've always been fascinated by the inner workings of technology and how it can be harnessed to create efficient and seamless experiences for users. My journey in the world of computers initially began with an old, unusable PC tower in the basement of my childhood home. I would take it apart and put it back together often, which led to a curiosity in what I could possibly do with computers. I ended up taking some coding courses in high school, which eventually led me to pursue a degree in this field. Throughout my academic career, I have honed my skills in various programming languages and have developed a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. As a an aspiring backend engineer, I thrive on solving complex problems and creating robust systems that can handle large amounts of data. I have experience working with different flavors of databases, and have a knack for optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity. My technical skills are further reinforced through my varied experience over the past few years. I’ve worked with a team from Oracle on creating a distributed Central Band Digital Currency solution and have implemented a fully sharded database system, which gives greater system security and allows banks to maintain data sovereignty. During my previous internship at Wawa, I gained valuable skills and experience in developing PL/SQL stored procedures and deploying RESTful APIs that interact with these procedures. At AMETEK I worked on a complete rebuild an essential software application that had no source code, and this tested my resourcefulness and critical thinking, as it is very difficult to rebuild a software with no existing documentation.Aside from my technical skills, I also possess strong communication and teamwork abilities. As the Manager of the Lehigh Marching 97, I have learned many things about how to lead and communicate with a large group of people, as well as how to work well within a team. I'm always open to learning from others and constantly seeking new challenges to grow and improve. In my free time, you can find me exploring the latest tech trends, playing video games, building LEGO sets, or playing Geoguessr.I'm currently seeking full-time software engineering roles in the New York area starting in summer 2025 after my graduation from Lehigh University.
