The seventh edition of Alcova was set in two of the most extraordinary villas of the Milan metropolitan area: Villa Borsani and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi. Villa Borsani, completed in 1945, is a Modernist architectural masterpiece by Osvaldo Borsani, noted for its lush gardens and distinctive elements like a Lucio Fontana fireplace, and serves as a center for the Archivio Osvaldo Borsani. Built for a noble Milanese family, who used it as a summer retreat to escape the heat of the city and to entertain guests and friends, Villa Bagatti Valsecchi is one the most significant examples of 19th-century villa architecture in the Lombardy region. Alcova brought together the people defining design culture today through groundbreaking work on living environments, products, systems, materials and technological innovation. Alcova has become one of the most widely followed projects in the Fuorisalone, regularly attracting over 90.000 visitors.

Alcova unveiled its first overseas edition during Miami Art Week 2023. Set in the Gold Dust Motel, one of the architectural icons of Miami’s modernist period, Alcova present ed the work of selected designers, studios, organisations and brands working at the intersection of contemporary design practice, craftsmanship and artistic practice. With over 35 projects on display as well as a public program of talks and club nights, Alcova Miami sparked conversations on new directions in design and its future in in a setting that mirrors the artistic dynamism of Miami itself.
