Grant writing was the main focus of my work with Valley AIDS Council (VAC). The environment allowed me to work and coordinate closely with medical case managers, doctors, nurses, PAs, community liaisons, and directors, all working towards decreasing the incidence and prevalence of HIV in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. During my time at VAC, I have raised almost $1,000,000.00 in grants and sponsorships.

The Master of Science in Global Health program is based on an interdisciplinary and development-oriented approach to global health. It's an innovative and multidisciplinary curriculum with a research emphasis, didactic coursework and experiential learning. Coursework in biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, health policy and planning, microbiology, international partnerships, and social science research were taken. It offered a strong focus on quantitative, qualitative and applied social sector research in developing countries. This multidisciplinary, university-wide program offers courses taught by faculty from across the different Georgetown University campuses, schools, and institutes, such as the School of Nursing & Health Studies, the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University Medical Center, Georgetown Law, and McCourt School of Public Policy. In addition, the Field Research Module provides students with field experience where students are expected to produce a scholarly paper that enhances the academic field of global health.

The Master in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) prepares graduates with intelligence, sound judgment, intellectual honesty, appropriate interpersonal skills, and critical thinking skills. Upon certification, I will be capable of medical patient assessment and developing a plan of action for addressing their health concerns. The professional curriculum for PA education includes basic medical, behavioral, and social sciences, introduction to clinical medicine and, supervised clinical practice, and health policy and professional practice issues.

I was a member of a fast-paced, start-up styled team implementing design thinking and entrepreneurial efforts to shape inclusion initiatives at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Aspects include social entrepreneurship experience, mentorship, and networking. Projects include website design, project pipeline design, social media research, and academic youth outreach.

At IDEA I have worked at two campuses, IDEA Allan College Prep in Austin, Texas, and IDEA San Juan College Prep in San Juan, Texas. In the classroom setting have taught middle school science, world cultures, algebra, biology, pre-AP chemistry. On the administrative side, I have worked as an academic coach for high school science, curriculum coordinator for chemistry for the entire district, and as a testing coordinator for grades 6th - 12th, and have been on the college counseling team as the college field lesson coordinator.
