I was a Desk Assistant at the PBS NewsHour, I helped produce the blog & Live ShowI researched upcoming stories, worked on pieces for the NewsHour blog, transcribed interviews, and kept scripts current during the live show. I learned about the specific challenges and opportunities inherent in Public Media, as well as live news.

Produced a weekly 5 hour radio show that showcased the best in alternative music for a local Public Radio Station.Selected DJs for the show, and engaged in quality control and music acquisition.Used both social and traditional media to increase awareness of the program.

Made radio documentaries and short news pieces for the local Syracuse NPR station.Constructed a fourteen minute radio documentary about the controversy surrounding a billion dollar mall development deal that was played on air.Line produced WAER’s 2012 election coverage.

I was the Production Manager at WERW, an independent college radio station at Syracuse university. The position entailed writing, editing, and producing professional quality ads to play on WERW. In addition, I have written for the WERW blog, and in meetings, I helped brainstorm the future of the radio station.

I was a research intern at Actual Reality Pictures, primarily for the documentary 'The World According to Dick Cheney', but I also assisted on various other projects.Interviewed sources, compiled background materials, and combed through various archives. Learned how documentaries were made from the ground level, and helped the team with whatever they needed.

Assisted in the ‘It Gets Better’ Project, a non-profit dedicated to stopping homophobic bullying.Wrote profiles of gay or questioning teens who took their own lives, compiled articles that dealt with the rise in teen suicide, and wrote coverage of gay-themed media projects.
