My time at SAF Holland has been a wonderful experience. I was hired in July 2017 as a C.N.C operator. I had little experience with C.N.C but was willing to broaden the little knowledge I possessed in that area. As months went by, my leader and engineer noticed I was catching on very quickly. there after, our company started installing new machines where I would train for a few months and then move to the next one to later become a lead trainer. when new hires were brought in, I was one of the lead trainers who was responsible to properly train the new operator on the process of how to operate the machine, how to check and change programs and check/change tooling. In my pervious job I was a welder and a 1st shift welding position was listed in our company. I was given the weld test where I passed and my position was changed to welder. I then soon learned how be a manual welder and also a robotic welder. A robotic weld operator is responsible for the program changes and maintenance of the robot. With the new knowledge I inherited from learning C.N.C and robotic programs. A manufacturing engineering technician position was posted in our company and I decided to apply. With the positive impact I had with leaders and managers, I was given the opportunity to fill the position where I currently continue my journey. From being a former floor employee to now working with upper management. I have learned many more skills and possess new uplifting traits that will take me to another level. I am a hard working person and always willing to jump in when times are getting rough. I am not afraid to get under a hood again or work a machine. A team is built by those that are willing to step in when others are down.
