My professional career started in 1999-2000 and one of the most important things I have learnt in life as a subordinate, is that everyone including myself, likes to be treated with respect, be appreciated and motivated for our strengths as a team member. 15+ years down the line, I have not forgotten that and hopefully never will. Why am i talking about this in my summary, before my profession? Well, because, just being good at what you specialise in (Social Media Marketing Lead Strategist/Manager), is not enough, what is more important is understanding I cannot reach my goals, without a top quality Content, Graphics, Social Media Execs, and other valued team members. Bottom-line, never think I know it all, and always keep learning and growing as a professional.Social Media Marketing (SMM) has taught me a few very important things:-1) SMM is not a short term game, its a long term marathon, which needs practice (testing), consistency, and more importantly knowing the buyer persona, the pain points, and feeding them with quality content which drives engagement, to build a relationship between the Brand and the target demographics.2) The content and the team member undertaking the brand engagement on Social, needs to have the same values as the Brand.3) SMM is not about being everywhere, until and unless you are a Huge brand which has those kind of budgets, its more importantly about being efficient and choosing the 1/2 Social platforms where the Brand's target demographics are most likely to be in a receptive and reactive mood to the Brand's content.4) How we deal with negative feedback via Social show's the Brand's persona, and that is the most important thing to handle assertively, rather than ignore.5) Social Media Marketing is not Social Media Selling, it is building a Brand's image, awareness and giving prospective clients the intelligence data they need, in making the final decision of subscribing to the Brand.
