Many studies have identified trends and customer behaviour that calls for change. Earlier, OEMs have addressed their customers through dealerships where the dealers have had the interaction with the customers, establishing a relationship and impacting what type of car the customers purchase. Our study identified the needs to transform the traditional business model to a more customer-centric business model with more focus on increasing urban population and adoption to mobility solutions of cars. The project focused on what actions manufacturing companies have taken to proactively ensure operations, supply chain and health of employees within the COVID-19 landscape and involved different representatives from six different sites.The project team consisted of a small team and was lead by a renown management consultancy firm called Triathlon. Interview techniques, market research, data analysis, project management, presentation techniques and proactive actions taken within the manufacturing industry were a large part of my personal learning outcome. For 12 weeks during the summer break I worked as a Logistics coordinator at Nordic Bulker AB. I was responsible for the freight of containers between Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and north Finland. My task was to make sure that the containers were picked up at the right time, got loaded at the right boat and were delivered at the customer when it was needed. I also made sure to get the containers back with the most time efficient way and with consideration of the environment.

As a Product Specialist, it is of high importance to understand the customer and to match the specific individuals' needs. My job was to help the customer to identifying which car would match the customer best, guide the customers through the most important features of the car, and then finally planning the delivery to the customer. My learning from this job is the importance of a clear understanding of the customer’s needs.

During four months at Proton Engineering AB, we had the possibility to observe different bending machines in their production facility. One specific bending machine were then assigned to us with the goal of increasing the output performance. With observation and different methods such as a SMED-analyze we could after several weeks come up with improvements of the two shifts on this specific machine. As a production support operator, I was responsible for quality assurance and controlling of the production of food supplies in the health and fitness industry. The job included quality assurance from raw production to finalized packaging for delivery.

As a salesman and area expert, I was responsible for helping customers to find the right products in the sports apartment. I gained a lot of experience in the retail business, and to quickly learn many products in new areas in order to better assist the customers.
