I have also learned how to manage a relationship with the children's parents. Often, I am by myself without supervision or guidance, so I am responsible for conducting and planning the sport camps effectively.
Marketing And Entertainment Intern
•While working under Marketing and Entertainment Director, John Wodarek, I completed well over 50 hours of work experience at Heinz Field over the summer of 2013. I was an integral part to the preparation, coordination, and organization of major stadium events and game days. These included the Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, and Florida Georgia Line concerts hosting over 65,000 people. I gained valuable experience in event management, sponsor appearances, vendor coordination, media logistics, etc. Specifically, I worked closely with the performers, tour managers, radio station managers, vendors, and fans. I was in charge of pre-event festivities outside the stadium as well as behind the scene work during the concert. I helped conduct meet and greets and escorted performers to and from their suites. After the successful completion of my 50 hours over the summer, the organization asked me to stay on board and work Pittsburgh Steeler games throughout the season.

•Working under Director of Multicultural Development, Corinne Gibson, I began working with the Office of Multicultural Development my junior year and continued into my present role my senior year. I meet with my mentees once a week to check up on them and monitor how they are doing in class, personally, and socially. I deal a lot with students problems and help them come up with solutions. I am also required to meet with my supervisor once every two weeks to monitor how I am doing. This is a very rewarding job to have and I consider it a huge part of my maturation as a person and a leader.
Practicum Student
•While working as a practicum student under Associate Athletic Director Torry Rollins, I was responsible for the daily managing of the Athletic Department's Excel spreadsheet regarding athletic team's debits and credits. This allowed me to understand the funding system of a collegiate athletic department regarding the Foundation, State, and Co-Operation funds as well as understand what kinds of expenses the department and teams incur on a regular basis. Things such as recruiting, lodging, travel, meals, equipment, supplies, uniforms, referee expenses, coach's salaries, etc. In addition to budgeting and financing experience, I also completed travel forms and conducted research on potentially switching all Slippery Rock University athletic teams uniforms to Under Armor. In addition to office work, I also gained valuable experience working football games. I completed tasks relating to ticketing, attendance and security.
Field Crew
•Working with the Pittsburgh Steelers field crew was one of the best experiences of my life. I obtained crucial experience in Professional and Division I sports including game day preparations, facility operations, and field maintenance. It allowed me to gain insights into just how complex the world of sports really was. Up until I got hired for the job, I took Steeler and Pitt games for granted and did not know how much work went into the production of them. I started in the summer and ended at the end of the Steeler's season in December.
Practicum Student
•While working as a practicum student under Youth and Family Director, Jamie Knauff, I completed over 50 hours of work experience during the summer of 2012. I was a part of the planning, organizing, and coordinating of the Butler YMCA Triathlon hosted at Moraine State Park. I obtained donations from local companies which were then compiled into a gift bag for all race participants. Donations included gift cards, coupons, pens, etc. This allowed me to gain valuable experience making cold calls to businesses. I was responsible for setting up all the signage relating to parking, directions, and information prior to the event. On the day of the event, I distributed gift bags to participants as they arrived to the event, directed race participants during their transition from one event to another, and took pictures of the medal ceremony at the end of the event. In addition to the Triathlon experience, I created flyers for different events the YMCA was hosting and advertising sport camps and programs.
Practicum Student
•While working under Sports Information Director, Bob McComas, I completed 50 hours of work experience during the Spring semester of 2012.
