I started my retail career in 2012 at Nordstrom rack as a sales lead of the men's department. I quit due to my managers reluctance in my growth. I have, since, worked for the American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie brand for almost 10 years. I started as a sales associate in March 2014 and within a year I promoted to Sales Lead. I transferred twice to different stores when position and an increase in pay became available. The Visual Merchandising Manager position became available at the Pentagon City location and this is where I've been since 2017. Me and the new management team improved the service quality, increased sales numbers, and changed customer experience for the better. This allowed us a store redesign (that was desperately needed), and we finally gained Aerie business. Thus taking us from an almost $1million store to a $3million store. I transitioned to the Aerie visual merch manager. This change allowed me to truly learn and appreciate the creativity of visuals because Aerie is alot more detail oriented than AEO. I hope to one day become a District Visual Merchandising Manager.
