Internal Promotion/role enhancement for American Access Inc.In this newly established position at American Access Inc., I am responsible for developing a comprehensive curriculum that includes PowerPoint presentations, handouts, assessments, training videos, and instructional digital media.My role also involves traveling to newly opened service centers to train managers on essential skills for hiring, disciplining, and developing technicians at all levels. The training covers daily administrative duties, procedures for company purchases, security measures for protecting personal information, and understanding contractual obligations to our customers, particularly the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). As a Service Center Manager in Beckley, WV, I took a proactive approach to managing the expectations of our service center. Being a smaller branch, I had the chance to work closely with my technicians, both to learn from them and to train new hires. I identified that our inventory control measures were lacking. To address this, I developed a schedule for asset counts, allowing us to reconcile physical inventory with our digital records. This improvement enabled us to provide plant management with timely and accurate reports, reducing last-minute requests. I also ensured that I procured small parts locally in accordance with company purchasing policies.To handle increased workload and meet our obligations to the VAMC for evaluations and installations, I proactively hired qualified personnel as needed. I also implemented process improvements, as detailed in previous company incident reports, to reduce downtime and avoid return trips for incomplete work attributed to lack of company policy and written procedure. I requested additional training for myself and my team to expand our service center’s product offerings. This training will enable us to evaluate and install VPLs, chair lifts, and ceiling lifts in the future. When our workload decreased, I kept my technicians busy by assigning them to jobs from other service centers, ensuring we met the VAMC’s contractual timelines for other locations who’s personnel was lacking, causing the time constraint. We discovered 112 total rechecks that needed to be completed, and I trained my team on how to handle these tasks. I found that there was no written procedure for rechecks, only a checklist. To ensure consistency and adherence to high standards, I created a detailed written procedure. The review of this procedure was met with praise and I was tasked with further technical writing of company policy and procedure(s).

As a new and smaller facility I also completed all maintenance needs across all equipment operating either mechanically, electrically, pneumatically, or hydraulically. Through Kaizen events opportunities were identified to reduce an employee’s downtime at their respective machine(s). I implemented new processes for production which directly led to site wide company increases in production numbers. Safety is paramount and each employee was required to complete 2 BBP (best behavioral practices) cards per week, and 2 HOC (hazard observation cards) per month. This ensured my employees operated with a safety first mindset and encouraged teamwork. All hiring, firing, disciplinary measures, and retention was handled personally. All freight movements were handled by 3rd part brokers and each load rate required negotiation to confirm, these could include collective bargaining agreements. Created a motivated workforce with the ability to work without direct/constant supervision if my presence was required elsewhere. Contracted by summit technologies to oversee their installation and service of DirecTV systems in accordance with contractual obligations. Top priorities included increased field production in perpetuity with FBOI (fixed base operational income) reduction for DSAT (Direct Satellite – contracting company) contract for Summit Technologies. Overall lead company to a 21% increase in overall installations and a 24% reduction in service calls within 90 days due to technician caused issues. This was completed in diligence of overseeing all training of new personnel, inventory management, inventory asset/audit counts, and quality assurance reporting on all contracting jobs (new cable/fiber installation, upgrades, and service calls). Identified need for a behavioral safety initiative which once designed and implemented directly led to reduction of insurance(s) cost per employee. Ensured technician compliance for all new practice and procedures Implemented according to the timeline I created. All required cable technician certifications were tracked per employee and monitored to ensure each employees progress met company and customer goal end date(s). Monitored all completion of work orders through electronic systems used to verify employee’s compensation was correct including up sells or bonus calculations.

Monitoring of truck fleet to analyze and manage costs via reduction in the following categories: fuel consumption, repair process streamlining, labor management, driver efficiency, and haul rate calculation. Working in close proximity with multiple field operations and ensuring proper communication to meet customer (both private and state jobs) required production deadlines. Interfacing with all plant production leads to optimize supply chain of raw materials from all quarry and river operations needed for all asphalt and concrete plants (8 total plant locations). Liaise with project engineers/leads to ensure minimal downtime with proper forecasting for all raw materials. Financial modeling allowed identification to develop reinvestment in company needs and/or operational requirements. Through thorough review of each vendor utilized opportunities were identified for reinvestment in company equipment and employee development. I arranged all necessary employees’ schedules to be free in order to complete a 1 week training/certification for all new equipment.
