Joined TWI Ltd in April 1993 as a trainee technician working on research and development projects within the advanced materials and laser welding laboratories. During my apprenticeship I gained an ONC in mechanical engineering, HNC in mechatronics, NEBSM in supervisory and management, all whilst gaining extensive knowledge and experience in novel welding and joining techniques across a wide range of materials. During this time was also involved in the testing activities, typically tensile, pressure and leak testing. In the early 2000s started to manage projects (5-10k), liaising with and managing the expectations of key stakeholders.
