Currently, I anchor the morning news at 16 WAPT the ABC affiliate in Jackson, MS. Since arriving our morning show has continued to evolve and grow in ratings. We have seen our highest numbers, jumping to #1 over the predominately top station in the market. My mornings are spent in the newsroom, behind the anchor desk, standing outside and wherever else is needed to help tell the story. By moving around, it allows me to engage the viewers and keep the show active while delivering the news professionally. My strongest attributes are handling breaking news, ad- libbing, digesting information quickly and delivering it concisely. It is a skill I developed during my time as a sports anchor and reporter.I understand the fist thing most people do in the morning is look at their phone, so I utilize social media tools like Facebook live, Twitter and Instagram to ensure they are getting up to the minute information form us first.In addition to television I co-host Memphis Sport Live, a weekly talk radio show on Sports 56 WHBQ.Before Jackson, I was a hybrid of sorts for Fox 13 in Memphis anchoring weekend sports and reporting during the week. I also worked as a multimedia news reporter on the Memphis City Council beat.Before graduating from Mississippi State with a broadcast journalism degree, I’d spent four years working at WCBI-TV the CBS affiliate in Columbus, MS. There I ran teleprompter, studio camera, directed and I was a videographer. During my junior year of college I began sports reporting and was named weekend sports anchor before graduating in the spring of 2006.
