Joining Penang Youth Development Corporation allows me to contribute on what I have learnt in my days in UKM to be planned and executed here as well. This is a step higher as the initiatives and programmes planned is for a bigger population and wider yet defined objectives. I am glad and proud to have this opportunity to be back and serve my state, especially in the area of youth development where it is one of my key learning areas in my university. As an Executive Officer (Programme) under the Economic Development team, I plan and execute initiatives, programmes and workshops from the aspect of career and education. We Want You (Job portal), Penang Digital Young Talent and Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge are among the few examples of our current planning. I realised that this is a very good platform for me as I kickstart my career journey. This is because as a state government agency, we work very closely with the public and private sectors to ensure the delivery of our initiatives are met with the right support from our counterparts. My involvement with the student leadership in UKM gave me a clearer view on the roles and types of initiatives I can work on with PYDC. Besides, I was also given the opportunity to lead my team in guiding our team members in achieving the expectations set. Nevertheless, there are challenging areas as the implementation of the initiatives here are a higher level than before. I am motivated and feeling challenged to meet the expectations of me and I am hungry to explore further on areas I have not before as I believe in developing myself holistically.

I joined D Jungle People Sdn Bhd (DJP) for my internship for 8 weeks, and I was assigned to one of the business team. As DJP is a corporate training company, I learnt from scratch on what happened from before a training starts, until after the training ended. This 8 weeks of internship with DJP further widens my knowledge, exposure and experience in the Human Resource industry, which is also where my interests lie. I am really glad with this opportunity to be able to join DJP for my internship.
