Maintain order in a detention facility. Learning any and all rules of the facility and enforcing those regulations to be certain that inmates act in an orderly way. Enforcement procedures include arbitrating disputes between inmates, performing disciplinary action and performing inspections.Inspect inmates, their visitors, their mail and the cells they occupy for any items that violate the rules of the facility, such as drugs or weapons. They also check the facility in its entirety for fire hazards, conditions that don't meet sanitary standards, regulatory infractions and tampering of objects meant to bar entry. The daily activities are typically recorded in a log. Officers are asked to give oral or written reports whenever there is a breach of regulations and on the work done by inmates over a period of time. Aid any other law enforcement personnel who must be summoned for a grievous breach of security, such as the escape ofan inmate.

Manage a 42 person flight providing security and law enforcement for 5K personnel, assigned aircraft valued over $5.08B. Track duty position training, qualification, and assignment via spreadsheet software. Directly supervise and author/review annual performance reports for 12 Airmen. Credited with leading two separate flights to winning flight of the quarter. Implement law enforcement, Anti-Terrorist plans and physical security protection for 5k personnel and 40Protection Level 3 resources worth $6.7B in 4 separate restricted areas. Present a security posture enabling the wing to fly over 7,000 sorties & train 2,500aircrew members annually directly representing the Squadron, Group and Wing Commander to the public.

NCOIC, Military Working Dog (MWD) Program providing detection capability for Altus AFB OK supporting US Special Operations, US Central Command and Air Education and Training Command. Responsible for the direct supervision of the section and 7 dog handlers as well as the well-being of the $350K in canine assets and equipment and facilities valued at $500K. Credited for taking a failing section to an excellent rated section in 6 months. Supervised the crafting of training programs covering basic and advanced obedience, Principles of Condition, and passive identification techniques including Deferred Final Response training. Authored operations, maintenance plans and trained kennel staff in safe handling of explosive training aids. Evaluated teams during validation testing and orchestrated annual certifications. Proofed training records, supervised generation of reports documenting training and evaluations of detector canine teams along with preparing quarterly reviews conducted by the Staff Judge Advocate and Group Commander ensuring probable cause. Ensured each handler is aware of standard operating procedures and held each accountable for obeying all rules and guidelines.

As the NCOIC and Trainer; Provided detection capability for Spangdahlem, AB Germany supporting the United States Air Forces Europe Command. Supervised 15 dog handlers as well as the health and well-being of the $700K in canine assets and $1.1M of equipment and facilities. Scheduled and accomplished all required training for teams to include anti-terrorist explosive detection operations, Presidential and State Department support tasks. Established procedures, planning and coordinated employment of teams both on and off installation to include covert operations with Air Force Office of SpecialInvestigations. Directed emergency response to suspicious items and bomb threats, manage teams attached to deployed locations throughout the middle east. Responsible for the operational and logistical employment of teams supporting multiple missions with the USSS and USDS. Maintained accountability of highvalue narcotics and volatile explosives used as detector dog training aids. Worked side by side with foreign nation law enforcement agencies for training,emergency response procedures and to assure mutual cooperation. Authored memorandums of understanding with Germany, Luxembourg, France and Netherlands. Maintained close working relationship with local and regional veterinarian to ensure adequate provisions were made for the health, safety and well-being of assigned MWDs and developed extensive emergency first aid training for handlers.

As a MWD Section Trainer, responsible for initial and proficiency training for 27 dog teams identifying and correcting deficiencies. Managed the explosive account with zero deficiencies during my tenure and instructed handlers in safety and accountability procedures. As Trainer, evaluated teams in preparation for semi-annual validation testing, orchestrated team certifications annually maintaining a 100% certification rate, and established new and realistic explosive training locations furthering the dogs’ tolerance of diverse environments. Responsible for reviewing MWD Training and Utilization records monthly for accuracy and supervised the generation of reports documenting the training and evaluation of explosive detector canine teams. Wrote detailed team evaluation reports and provided direct oversight for troubleshooting performance issues after I identified training deficiencies. I developed innovative remedial training programs using various training techniques, implemented the plans and tracked the team performance until the team performancewas satisfactory.

Assigned two detector dogs where I faced significant training issues. Because of my dedication and patience, I successfully corrected detection problems ranging from lack of active sniffing behavior to a severe lack of odor recognition by being able to read the dog and applying the proper encouragement or timely presentations/rewards. I logged hundreds of hours of training and actual search time. Executed directed searches upon requestor base on probable cause. Me and my narcotics dog were able to locate illegal drugs on six separate occasions and through proper report writing and follow up testimony during trial we were successful in supporting the prosecution. Exceeded optimal training plan each month and obtained 99% accuracy rating.

While stationed at MCLB Albany, Handled two different dogs both explosives. Both dogs had their challenges to include aggressive behavior. Through positive reinforcement and direct reward I was able to get high performance and exception detection capabilities from both dogs. I conducted hundreds of searches on the base especially vehicles and buildings. During my time there I became highly sot after for detection support to many agencies to include HMX-1, USSS,USDS, ATF, FBI and US Marshals. Altogether I spent almost 10 months conducting support missions on several different continents. Through my experience and training with so many different K9 teams I was able to hone my own skills and be very adaptive and flexible in my ideas and training/handling methods. Conducted several off base searches for bomb threats to include ones with restrictive time frames and was very successful in them. Written numerous incident reports involving in the seizure of evidence and have testified to the benefit of the prosecution on multiple occasions. Logged hundreds of hours of training and actual search time.

While stationed at MCLB Barstow, Handled three different detector dogs. All three dogs had their challenges to especially for a new handler. Through positive reinforcement and direct reward I was able to get high performance and exception detection capabilities from them. Conducted hundreds of searches on the base especially vehicles and buildings. During my time there I was attached to US Customs on two separate occasions, once in San Luis, AZ and the other was at El Paso, TX. This was my first introduction to no military training dogs and became very familiar with other aspects and training methods. I was very successful at both ports of entry netting hundreds of pounds of illegal narcotics attempting to be smuggled into the US. During this time to I was awarded Officer of the Year for San Bernardino County CA for my top notch performance, positive community influence and dedication to duty.
