I was born in Florence, Arizona, and raised in Seattle, Washington. Currently, I oversee an all-Black retail space and art gallery, driven by our mission to cultivate a hub for exploring the creative energy of the African diaspora. We're dedicated to providing stability, and opportunities for the Black creative community. In my early 20s, I dedicated myself to work before pursuing higher education. Starting at Seattle Central College, I pursued a communications and media degree, later transferring to the University of Washington Bothell campus to complete my bachelor's degree. Being the first in my family to earn a college degree while working full-time was a significant achievement, highlighted by my inclusion on the dean's list in my senior year. What truly fulfills me in my role is establishing connections with vendors, artists, and community members, fostering a strong network to reshape the narrative in our community. We transcend our job titles; each of us brings unique value. Maintaining a steadfast commitment to excellence, regardless of life's challenges, keeps me grounded and humble. Outside work, I prioritize spending time with family, engaging in service, exploring new restaurant experiences, connecting with nature, and cherishing moments of solitude and detachment. Continued learning and personal growth are integral to my journey. Embracing uncertainty and trusting the process while pursuing my dream of entrepreneurship and community service with a team reflective of our community remain key aspirations.
