As well as seeing patients individually, a large part of my work is taking group exercise sessions with trainees. Working with a such a young cohort of individuals (many under 18) possesses its own set of challenges and has required me to make positive changes to my approach to work. As the only Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor in this role, I have taken on a number of increased responsibility tasks from infection control audits to maintenance of gym equipment contracts. I strive to continually improve the service we offer patients. I have created a number of motivational posters for the gymnasium and made a rehab booklet for patients to give them the information and resources to aid them in their path to recovery. I have also attended a number of CPD days and presented my own in service training sessions to the team.

This was a hands on placement where i was responsible for my own clients, from initial assessment to return to work via exercise rehabilitation programs. The placement also involved running group hydrotherapy sessions. At the end of the 4 weeks I delivered a case study presentation to the team.
