Certified Nursing Assistant
In my past role as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Sinai, I'm able to showcase my cooperation with other coworkers, my hardworking nature and commitment to deadlines. I was responsible for providing aide to all the male residents on my floor, which included: feeding them their breakfast and lunch, washing their body's and assisting them in clothing themselves. In addition to providing aide once in a while I would help recreation with coming up with ideas for games and activities for the residents. Also I worked my supervisor in sending other cnas including myself to different floors when their short staffed.Every month or two a staff member of the nutrition part of the nursing would provide each floor with a list of residents that needed to be weighted to make sure they we're either maintaining their required diet or they need to cut down on their food portions. So the supervisor would make copies of the list and gave us a copy so we would know who we have to weight. I would guide the male residents to the standing scale and document their current weight right next to last months. And residents that were we're either bed ridden or to heavy to lift I would use a mechanical lift to document their weight. After 1 year of working at the nursing home, the administration hired 3+ cnas and sent us to my floor for orientation. My supervisor asked the senior cnas if they could show them around the floor and introduce them to the residents but they we're all to busy. Since I was around their age at the time I could get along with them easier and they would more than likely listen to what I tell them to do, so my supervisor instructed me to show them how to perform proper aide and other skills they didn't learn.
