Camp Taji Iraq

• Serve as a key member of the maintenance support team. Perform preventative maintenance checks, service and repair on a fleet of 140 M1A1 SA tanks. Engage in troubleshooting, correcting malfunctions in power-pack.
• Selected as one of the first two mechanics to move to Taji and establish maintenance operations.
• Identified by the Iraqi Army mechanics as a subject matter expert on the Abrams.
• Reported to Ohio to attend a six-week welding course, achieving multiple certifications.

Performed 10, 20 and 30-level maintenance as well as semi-annual and annual services on 32 M1A1 SA tanks for General Dynamics Land Systems LBE contract. Tasks included PMCS, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance to include repairing and replacing broken parts. Assisted Honeywell with splitting the M1 power pack to replace internal seals.

Performed maintenance welding repairs throughout various areas of a power plant during annual power plant shutdown outages.

Performed structural welding and fitting tasks in the fabrication and installation of pipe hangers and pipe supports for 2 to 36 inch pipe for the JL Stall gas power plant in Shreveport Louisiana.

Performed rigging, welding and pipe fitting tasks including, grinding, cutting and fabrication to remove and replace hot and cold air blast gates at several TXU power plants.

Performed rigging, welding and pipe fitting tasks to remove and replace heater baskets and to remove and replace expansion joints in the bypass ducts at a Texas Utilities Company (TXU) power plant.

Performed rigging, welding and pipe fitting tasks during the process of removing and installing water wall panels & installation and removal of trusses in the boiler to support scaffolding for the interior of the boiler at a TXU power plant.

Performed structural welding and pipe fitting tasks including, grinding, cutting and fabrication as part of power plant maintenance.

Performed rigging, welding and pipe fitting tasks including, grinding, cutting and fabrication for new platforms and grating on the unit and removal and replacement of the hot and cold air blast gates at several TXU power plants.
