North Lincolnshire Council’s Planning & Regeneration service aims to deliver transformational growth and business investment.In order to achieve this, the service leads on a number of major projects and economic development activity throughout North Lincolnshire supported by a large asset base and its own investment fund. This provides an update of the key projects being delivered by the service: The ‘South Humber Gateway’ (SHG) is a project that will transform the economy of the whole of the Yorkshire and Humber region. It is the UK's last undeveloped strategic site fronting a deep water estuary. With almost 1,000 hectares – nearly four square miles – of development land more than £2bn of investment is planned. The largest Offshore Wind Park in Europe is set to be developed on the Gateway that will place North Lincolnshire at the centre of the UK's renewable energy sector. A major ports and logistics hub is also being developed on the site. There is now the very real prospect of creating upwards of 15,000 new quality jobs in the next 10 years.The Lincolnshire Lakes project is the largest mixed use housing, business and leisure development in the north of England. The Lakes proposal aims to create a brand new water side setting for 6,000 new homes in a series if villages and business and leisure parks.
