Throughout my health care career spanning more than two decades I have developed a passion for reproductive health and an appreciation of the significant benefits that screening can bring. I have a proven track record of delivering numerous large scale newborn screening projects. These include multiple instrument and software projects. This required a software update to most NHS screening labs. I led the project which involved laboratory managers, software developers and other key stakeholders. I performed the backup, installation and testing of new risk calculation software across all sites to ensure the project was successfully delivered on time. • 2019 - awarded the highest honor in the company, Presidents club. All expenses paid one week trip for two to Aruba. • In 2021 I led projects to setup the Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease (SCID) screening Pilot in England. This needed a coordinated approach that involved, hardware and software installation, training and testing. • In 2022 I was key in the transition of the SCID pilot from traditional PCR to Q-PCR technology. This involved lab managers, R&D and software services to ensure a seamless transition. -

In 2011 I established an in-house tandem mass spectrometry method for X-ALD screening on newborn blood spots using C26:0 Lyso-PC as a marker. • Led a software procurement project for a new LIMS. Wrote the Output Based Specification (OBS) and created a short list of suitable candidates. Evaluated the suppliers and awarded the contract based on specification and price. -

AchievementsDelivered on multiple new method screening test implementations:• 2004 – GOSH was identified as one of the pilot labs to evaluate Medium Chain Acyl-Co-enzyme-A (MCADD) as a candidate disorder to add to the national newborn screening panel. I co-developed an in house tandem mass spectrometry method for MCADD screening and oversaw its successful implementation. • 2007 Cystic Fibrosis screening was rolled out nationally. I was responsible for evaluation and of the test and the required software updates to go live. Thorough testing was performed ensuring the go live date was met, on time and within Budget. • 2007 Sickle cell screening was rolled out nationally. I evaluated a new commercial platform to deliver sickle cell screening and was responsible for the testing protocol and software updates required to implement this test. Thorough testing was performed ensuring the go live date was met, on time and within Budget.
