About Marcus Barker
I am an Iowa State undergrad pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, with an anticipated graduation in Fall 2025. Driven by a passion for continuous improvement and guided by my strengths in learning, responsibility, and achievement, I aim to apply cutting-edge technology in autonomous and embedded systems, as well as app development, to advance the agricultural, construction, and utility industries. After interning with Vermeer Corporation's Horizontal Directional Drilling team this summer (2024), I am continuing my work for the team part-time while pursuing my studies. In addition to my academic and professional work, I am a PADI certified Rescue Diver, a four-time high school swimming state qualifier, and have four years of lifeguarding experience, including management responsibilities. I was also involved in the Sea Cadets during high school, an experience that further developed my leadership and discipline. These experiences have strengthened my ability to lead and perform effectively in challenging environments.
