A growing stage lighting consultant and production company. Structured around assisting and enhancing all types of live production and film with equipment and production staff. While specializing in full-scale production lighting, SMEC also offers design, technical direction, and audio services.

I work as a freelance L1/Lighting Lead and Master Electrician based out of the New Orleans area. I work with many different companies/designers and crews to help create events and productions ranging from corporate-style General Sessions to full scale theatrical productions to feature-length films and television.

North America

Currently work with high value clients in live sports broadcasting and international corporate general assemblies. Deal directly on-site with clients. Notable recent works include Lighting Lead (Gaffer) for NBA Finals 2015-2019, NBA All-Star Game 2017-2018, MLB NLCS 2015, & NBA "Tip-Off" 2015. Receives and implements lighting plots from a Lighting Designer or account executive for exhibit booths and large scale convention meetings. Responsible for creating an equipment list and labor request for the selected venue. Typically responsible for a crew of 6-10 during installation of equipment on site and execution of events. Other responsibilities include working with high voltage 3-phase electrical distribution systems, programming intelligent lighting fixtures/automation elements over a variety of control platforms, network engineering, implementing control architecture over DMX and Art-Net protocols, CAD (Vectorworks-Spotlight), customer service representative to end client, expense tracking/reporting, and minor carpentry.
