After almost 10 years in the Oil & Gas industry, in a Project team based in Sao Paulo, Brazil - where I was born and raised - I've decided to take a different course. I mean, really different.I've moved to Curitiba (ok, just a 40min flight to the south), joining an IT group in 2014, where I led the Intelligence area. New projects, people, pace, environment... Definitely caught by Data, when we decided to create a Data Office to drive new products. From that moment on, among technical and management skills, I've been building and collaborating with multicultural data teams, with multidisciplinary skills within several areas of expertise and companies worldwide for more than 10 years now.Across the entire data pipeline, from collection to actionable insights, we'll be on the same page talking about collection, API's, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, storage and cloud-based databases like AWS Redshift or Google BigQuery, traditional ones like SQL Server, ELT/ETL, cleaning and transformation using Python, Pentaho and Alteryx, the good old MS Excel, data analysis and exploration in tools like Python again, Tableau (I was formerly the User Group Leader in Curitiba), Power BI and Superset, for example. I'd also be leading a discussion about data governance, best practices and security. Most of all, being a good translator between Business needs and Data products and solutions, spreading the word to foster data-driven environments.
