I am an effectual and highly motivated qualified accountant with dedication, perseverance and hands-on knowledge of internal reporting within the hospitality industry. I have excelled in my chosen field by following my instincts – early on I recognized that I have a very strong work ethic and ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods. This was a role reversal for us as I previously supervised this colleague in another project. I suggested to my colleague that we divide the project into two parts with my focusing on the reporting while he focused on operations to allow us to work within our areas of expertise. Initially, this division of labor worked well but halfway through the project, my teammate’s productivity suffered as a result of straying off task to answer requests outside of the project. I took ownership of the project and reminded my colleague to remain on task – at the time, he was not very pleased by my assertiveness, however, after we realized our objectives within the allotted time frames, he expressed gratitude at my ability to keep the team focused and my willingness to work with him in a reversed leadership role.
