I sing and play violin, viola, guitar and basic piano. I’m available for bookings on my own or as part of a duo or trio. Styles I can perform include folk, singer songwriter, Americana, trad jazz, blues and rock. Oh, and light classical! Teaching music to first-year students in multi-ethnic groups, including refugees and others newly arrived in the country. Using Dutch as the main language of instruction and tackling linguistic and behavioural challenges. Learning and applying Montessori principles on the job.

Teaching English by speaking English, writing English, reading English and listening to English. All the time, one to one, with peer support and collaboratively. Combining key vocabulary with book analysis in creative assignments and other challenges in the target language.

At PianoForte entertainment, I supply live musicians, dancers and close-up entertainers for private and corporate events. Since 2010, I have:- managed over 180 commercial bookings for customers including John Lewis and Cisco;- built up a portfolio of more than 130 acts;- commissioned a website with over 65 artist profiles, featuring photos, audio and video;- established social media profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube;- written content for the website, brochures, advertisements and banners, and press releases;- managed a bookkeeper, a PR manager and a marketing and delivery coordinator.

Under my tuition they have reached levels up to ABRSM grade 7, and 94% of my students I have prepared for an exam have passed.I have worked on a self-employed basis for Berkshire Maestros and the Merton Music Foundation, as well as for Exland Music in Buckinghamshire.

Having joined The Curious Sounds in July 2015, I have been involved with the development of the band's social media and the strategic direction of our many gigs. This has resulted in a victory at the annual Reading Got Talent competition, and enquiries from festivals, wedding couples and businesses.

Working on a self-employed basis for the music hub lead organisation, I taught violin and viola lessons to individuals, small groups and whole class ensembles (15-30 students at a time). The whole class ensemble projects resulted in short concerts at the end of term for the parents, and a presentation of what else had been learned during the classes. The individual- and small group lessons prepared students successfully for ABRSM exams up to grade 7. This peripatetic work took me to 7 different schools and a Maestros music centre in the area around Reading and Bracknell.

In this role, I worked on materials produced within the National Strategies for Primary and Secondary education.Responsibility:clearing 3rd party intellectual property (mostly music, literature and visual art) for publication in National Strategies materials.Other achievements:- oversaw and maintained consistency in the databases used by the copyright team;- contributed to the development of a new integrated database and workflow system.
