About Marcy Hilty, Esq.
As an undergraduate, I secured a competitive internship in the fast-paced offices at the Pittsburgh branch of the American Civil Liberties Union. There, I began to develop a keen understanding of the law and a true appreciation of the obstacles and hurdles that many face when navigating the legal system. I attended law school at Temple University in Philadelphia, which has consistently been ranked among the top law schools for both trial advocacy (#2 at the time, ranked by US. News & World Report) and legal writing. Throughout law school, I excelled in my practical coursework, receiving special commendations for "distinguished classroom performance" (awarded to the top students in each class) for trial advocacy (a class in which we simulated actual trial work) and for my work with direct representation of clients in the Immigration Law Clinical with the Nationalities Service Center. Since law school, I worked at several small firms, gaining experience in a variety of areas from workers' compensation to social security to wills and title insurance defense. After spending five years in toxic torts litigation, I had a short stint with a generalist, working on debt defense and Plaintiff’s-side employment and personal injury cases. As of February 2024, I have returned to immigration law practice.
Listed skills include Legal Writing, Legal Research, Immigration Law, Litigation, and 14 others.
