After growing up poor and working for decades in shelters and halfway houses, Dana Gold created a board game to help people of goodwill understand how families get ensnared in poverty and how difficult the struggle is to overcome structured inequity. The game, Broke, creates empathy for people who are poor by giving players the opportunity to experience the stress and frustration of making high stakes decisions with competing priorities and not enough income.All of the situations in Broke are pulled from soup kitchens, homeless shelters, halfway houses and the real-lived experiences of people struggling with structured inequity in the United States.

The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern PA’s mission is to maximize the opportunity for mentoring to transform the lives of young people so they may reach their full potential. TMP provides program development, technical support, training and creative solutions to over 140 non-profits providing mentoring for youth in Pennsylvania. Since June of 2012:Led interagency work with My Brothers Keeper Campaign and BMe Community. Supported coalition of youth serving organizations in creation of Pittsburgh Keepers of the Community Collaborative to connect more African American men with black boys in the region. Led inter-agency regional initiative to create a campaign to support college-going culture in the city of Pittsburgh. Created and implemented Promise Coaches Initiative, an innovative outreach program to reach adults in communities with graduation rates below 70%. Collaboration included The Mayor's Office, Pittsburgh Public Schools, The United Way of Allegheny County and The Pittsburgh Promise. Led the strategic development of the Striving for Mentoring Excellence initiative in the region. Created and implemented the Quality Coaching process based on national, research based best practices. Leadership with the National Collaborative Mentoring Webinar series, highlighting the work of the nation's leading experts on mentoring and informing the work of thousands of youth-serving organizations across the U.S.. Creation of the "Everyday Mentors, Everyday Matters" Campaign in Pittsburgh area. Instituted Youth Initiated Mentor training for programs throughout the region.Development of comprehensive volunteer training curriculum focused on positive youth development. Creation and implementation of three critically acclaimed regional conferences: "Harnessing the Power of Mentoring in Schools 2013, 2014", "Essentials of Mentoring Black Boys" and "Future Focus: Take your Mentee to Career Day".

Infinite Family is an innovative, international not-for-profit that connects mentors in 52 countries face-to-face with orphaned African children using videoconferencing, email and a secure, interactive, internet platform. * Designed, piloted and implemented an innovative, international internet-based mentoring program resulting in hundreds of mentors impacting the lives of South African children challenged by HIV/AIDS and poverty. * Established key partnerships with international corporations and non-profits to support the mission of Infinite Family with volunteers, knowledge-based contributions and financial support. These partnerships include Bombardier, Save the Children and Data Dimensions. * Coordinated the development of a technology platform that meets the needs of volunteers and at risk African children while addressing infrastructure, budgetary and cultural challenges. * Extensive travel to Africa, South America and Asia to coordinate new site development. * Designed and developed online volunteer recruitment and fund raising strategies by employing social networking, blogging and web-based applications. * Designed, implemented and delivered international online training curriculum using open-source web based applications. * Responsible for the creation of all training materials, organizational blog, video scripts and fund development materials resulting in increased volunteer participation, as well as individual and corporate grants. * Recruited, trained and managed the work of Infinite Family's international team of program and direct service staff.* Initiated and managed successful partnerships with NGO’s in all program countries.* Designed and analyzed overall program measurements and evaluation processes and tools.

Created and developed all US activities for The Love of Christ Ministries, a South African orphanage outside of Johannesburg. * Created person-to-person fund development system for TLC-USA resulting in contributions increasing from $10,000 a year to $250,000 over 3 years. * Recruited Board of Directors and US based volunteers. * Designed and coordinated the creation of the first website to broaden fundraising base and raise awareness of the orphan crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa.* Organized, promoted and managed two US fundraising tours for South African staff of TLC orphanage.

Pioneered first program in Allegheny County to provide long term treatment for addicted women with their children in a home-based setting.* Developed mission and vision for the organization that focused on the role of the recovering addict as mother and head of household in order to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty and addiction. * Raised $1.5 million in government and private grants for operating and capital campaign expenses.* Established non-profit status of organization. * Hired, trained and provided clinical supervision for all therapeutic and support staff.

Founder of first Bridge Housing program for homeless men in Allegheny County. * Provided therapeutic support of over 150 clients. * Designed and implemented innovative work readiness and life skills programs. * Coordinated collaborative relationships with other non-profits for direct client benefit.* Administered government grants and over $700,000 from private funders.
