Providing executive assistance and personal support to the Managing Director based in Berlin, Germany. It is my task to help her make the best use of time by dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks such as data management, filing, organising schedules, proposals, RFP’s, briefing papers and presentations. Within the company, my tasks are varied. Everything from working with social media to updating the Intranet, English language editing and coaching, marketing and communications, all fall within my daily duties.

Conceptualization, realization and content maintenance of four exceptionally interactive websites representing four highly-rated radio stations, KRBB(B98-FM), KZSN, KKRD/Ch963, & KRZZ/KTHR-The Brew. In the beginning, I was using a basic CMS system, but changing requirements for additional flexibility (primarily being tasked with finding a way to monetize the websites) caused me to move away to programming with HTML and Java. At the end of my tenure, Clear Channel instituted a CMS system which was partially controlled from company headquarters. Thus my job fell to mostly content maintenance and monetizing the ad space available by assisting the sales department with ideas of what to sell and how to sell it.

This position required continuous monitoring of police bands, listening for traffic tie-ups or dangerous areas, and then recording four, one-minute spots per hour for use throughout the afternoon drive time. These spots would play across all stations in the cluster; KRBB(B98-FM), KZSN, KKRD/Ch963, & KRZZ/KTHR-The Brew. Alongside my position as CC-ICT radio afternoon traffic reporter was a 1.5-minute live, (via phone line) traffic report, broadcast on KAKE-TV early evening news in conversational style including interaction with news presenters.

The duties were numerous and hard to outline. For this morning show, (award winning and rated number one in its market) I did everything from booking and conducting guests (live and recorded - in studio and out), on the street reporting, gathering and editing prep ideas (both audio and textual), creating promos, maintaining a highly interactive website, assistance in news editing, photography, event organization (listener interactive bits, charity drives, Children's Miracle Network Radio-a-Thon), prize management and distribution, working with charitable organizations, Honey Bun procurement.

The CMN Radioathon was a 48 hour, mostly live “special” programming segment in which listeners were asked to telephone the station to make donations to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network (a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals).Producing such an event is basically managing the logistics of getting people, resources and equipment together to the right place at the right time. As producer I was responsible for just about everything that went out over the air except for what came out of the announcer's mouth - and sometimes even that with use of instant messaging. It was my task to ensure that any guests (live or on the phone) were prepped and ready to go - also urged to stay "on topic." Call screening/selection and recording of any special calls into the station, and editing down into sound bites to be used throughout slow periods. Alongside the live event were the pre-production duties including running an online auction to raise money, helping to procure advertisers and coming up with ideas to assure maximum visibility. As a way of covering “down time” and allowing on-air talent to rest, we produced many pre-recorded/edited vignettes which were basically a recorded interview with a child who was affected by a CMN hospital. Afternoon drive guy/Music Director Tom Cook and I won a KAB (Kansas Association of Broadcasters) award for “Complete News Feature” in 2001.
