Nuts for Life is an initiative of the Australian tree nut industry. The program aims to inspire people to enjoy a healthy handful of nuts every day, to ultimately reduce the gap between actual consumption of nuts and the recommended intake. The Digital and Communications Manager supports the program's goals - working collaboratively with the Program Manager and the Nuts for Life Management Committee. The role includes developing and updating content (such as for the website), and managing the organisation's eDMs and social media outreach - ensuring messages are delivered effectively. The position also helps to influence public health policy.

ABCMF is a forum of local manufacturers, established to support the Australian breakfast cereal category. Within the small ABCMF team, the Nutrition Communicators Advisor supports the delivery of the Communications Strategy, which aims to encourage Australian consumer confidence in the relevance and benefits of breakfast cereals. This role involves monitoring and evaluating the nutrition and health evidence base related to breakfast and breakfast cereals, translating scientific information into communication materials for professional and consumer audiences, delivering social media activities (Twitter and Instagram), liaising with ABCMF members and stakeholders, and providing secretariat support to the ABCMF.

DAA is a not-for-profit, member-based association representing Australia's dietitians. This role involved developing, implementing and evaluating the Public Relations Strategy, within the wider Communications and Marketing Unit - which aims to support members, and position Accredited Practising Dietitians as the ‘go to’ professionals for nutrition advice. The role centred around proactive and reactive (issues management) media engagement, including for the annual DAA National Conference, and also involved member engagement (such as implementing the DAA Media Spokesperson's Program), web content development, social media engagement, and email marketing activities. I also acted in the role of Communications and Marketing Manager, for a 12-month maternity leave cover.

Dairy Australia is the national body representing the Australian dairy industry, and a research and development corporation. This role centred on promoting the evidence-based health and nutritional benefits of dairy foods, within a healthy, balanced diet, through nutrition communication activities, targeting consumers, health professionals, organisations, journalists and industry. It also involved providing nutrition expertise and support to marketing programs within the National Marketing Group. As part of this role, I was the media spokesperson for the organisation on issues relating to nutrition.
