My role is supporting and coaching new and experienced membership advisers to assist new FSB membership sales.Skills secured help advisers identify businesses' needs and explain the wide range of vital business services including advice, financial expertise, support and a powerful voice in government.

I have been with the FSB for 9 year & met over 5000 businesses of all sizes and all professions building a vast network of contacts and business experiences. As a business owner I understand business issues and strive to assist other businesses in a variety of ways .The FSB provides many services for businesses, whether small or large and from part time start up businesses to larger manufacturing companies.Getting to know the business, the challenges they face and their achievements is a key aims. As I meet around 600 businesses every year I am in a unique and privileged position of being able to signpost people to other suitable organisations who can help with specific needs.But I ‘m often able to put business owners in touch with one another Being able to demonstrate how the FSB’s vast range of business services is another key objective. An amazing service where businesses can take 24/7 advice from the 50 fully qualified commercial lawyers helping businesses with - employment law - health and safety- commercial law matters - tax advice which includes tax investigation insurance - over 600 free legal documents Many business owners have said “I wish I’d know about the FSB years ago you’d have saved me a fortune and got me out of trouble” I am also proud to have helped take FSB membership numbers in Hertfordshire to become the largest branch in the UK. A large part of this growth has come from recommendations from existing FSB members and other support organisations where we have excellent working relationships. Some of these organisations are Local Authorities, Enterprises Agencies, Town Centre Managers and Universities and publications. .

For the past 10 years I have worked within the branch and the region helping drive initiatives forward to help local businesses. I have also helped the FSB build solid relationships with other organisations and politicians.Being elected as Vice Chair and policy officer of the FSB Herts branch is an honour and I am looking forward to helping the largest branch FSB branch in the UK develop new initiatives and consolidate existing ones.

I was resposnsible for raising the profile of the MAA , supporting members in the free debt advice arena and engaging with the credit industry to improve how the parties worked together

I had come for the background of Television Licence Enforcement and with a wide breadth of knowledge in this area was appointed to lead a strategy of working with organisations dealing with people with financial problems. Payment of the TV Licence was one area of problems Citizens Advice, Local Authorities, The Court Service and Housing Associations were just some of the groups I worked with
