Margaret Cook has been practicing law for nearly 30 years, with 25 of those in the title insurance industry. Most recently, her vast industry experience, legal knowledge and affinity for leadership have found a home at Alliant National Title Insurance Company, where she has been responsible for developing its legal team, addressing pivotal legal questions and building relationships essential for the organization’s ongoing success. Margaret brings a variety of skills and expertise to the table, including specialties in: • Strategic planning• Coaching and mentorship• Regulatory and compliance issues • Underwriting and claims• Relationship building • Litigation ManagementPrior to coming to Alliant National and leading the company’s legal team, Margaret worked in private practice, and as Chief Claims Counsel and as Regional Underwriting Counsel within the industry. She joined Alliant National in 2010, became Deputy General Counsel in 2015, and was promoted to Executive Vice President (EVP), General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer in 2020. Throughout her career, Margaret has been guided by a commitment to giving back and contributing to the growth of others and to the title insurance industry as a whole. She is a Past-President of the Land Title Association of Colorado and Past-Chair of the Colorado Title Advisory Council. She also actively serves on the Title Standards Committee for the Colorado Bar Association and on several American Land Title Association and Colorado Land Title Association committees.Margaret resides in Colorado.
