For instance, I spearheaded the development of a 3-year DGF concept and proposal which was funded; facilitated collaborations and partnerships between district leaderships, central government and other stake holders with PLHIV; Coordinated the 1st ever PLHIV Stigma Index Survey in Uganda in 2013 (a study by and with the PLHIV); Participated in the development of the 1st draft National Employment HIV and AIDS Non-Discrimination Regulation based on Employment Act No. 6, 2006 and the ILO Recommendation No. 200; Coordinated successful advocacy against the extremely bitter version of the combined non-film coated Lamivudine/ Tenofovir (TDF/3TC) 300mg/300mg which affected adherence though pharmacologically, it had the right ingredients. It has been recalled by the National Drug Authority from all the facilities and replaced with film coated version of the TDF/ 3TC; To participated in monitoring of ART clinics and advocated against ART drug stock outs. As a result, emergency delivery of ARVs drugs took place in some facilities by the National Drug Authority; I developed tools to facilitate data collecting on ART drugs; To facilitated the development of advocacy plans for the district PLHIV Forums in 4 districts; Participated in influencing the targets for PEPFAR Country Operation Plan 2012/2013; I built effective communication networks and partnering relationships between the various stakeholder groups including the media; Promoted and publicised initiatives that increased awareness on the plight of PLHIV; Developed the plan for Advocacy department; and ensured regular reporting based on organisation’s report schedules

The partners of VSO Vietnam replicated the same practice in their offices; Gender and HIV and AIDS issues were considered in staff meetings/ agenda as important issues for discussions; I strengthened the capacity of 8 VSO staff, 25 volunteers and 25 supervisors of the volunteers from partners organizations in gender and HIV and AIDS mainstreaming; The Executive Committee and management of VSO Vietnam became gender sensitive which facilitated the process for producing gender sensitive Program Area Plans (PAP) for all departments; I produced training materials and most important the mainstreaming toolkit which will facilitate sustainability of the actions. I up dated the VSO Vietnam In-Service country paper for HIV and AIDS which contextualizes the global HIV and AIDS work place policy; Many testimonies were documented about the approach that I used, it was participative, and I ensured consultation with a wide cross-section of stakeholders working on human rights, gender and HIV and AIDS. I facilitated meaningful involvement of the beneficiaries of VSO Vietnam (people living with HIV and AIDS and the persons with disabilities) at policy and programming levels of the organization; I established very good collaboration between VSO Vietnam program and other strategic partners to promote human rights, gender equality and HIV and AIDS mainstreaming.
