About Margaret A Powers

I am the Founder of Creative Thinking Partners LLC and have over a decade of experience, on three continents, designing and facilitating trainings, engaging in program design, and instructional design. I am passionate about creating innovative approaches to education via a variety of mediums that inspire students and teachers to (re)discover the joy of learning. I believe the key to making learning engaging and meaningful is using human-centered design principles and gathering data and feedback throughout the design process.I specialize in project management, artificial intelligence, learning engineering, training facilitation, design thinking, and strategic planning. I have extensive experience developing and facilitating adult learning experiences (hands-on workshops, online courses, lunch and learns) and creating resources (asynchronous videos, digital guides, websites) to teach new content. I have worked with a wide variety of audiences, from keynoting an ed tech conference in South Africa to facilitating workshops in packed sessions at SXSW EDU to teaching graduate courses online. I am a seasoned trainer of both virtual and instructor-led training and I have worked with small cohorts of learners and also lead one-on-one coaching sessions. The space included writable, magnetic, and Lego walls, green screen walls, pegboard and a variety of high and low-tech tools and resources for students to use when prototyping and creating new projects or inventions.Facilitated professional development opportunities throughout the school year for all Pre-K to 12 faculty on various tools: Canvas LMS, the school information service, Google Apps, other web 2.0 tools, mobile technologies, interactive whiteboards, blogging platforms and new tools. Ran a DIY Maker Club after school for kindergarten to second grade students. Proposed and managed an iPad roll-out program, that started in Pre-K and expanded up through second grade.
