I am a User Experience Researcher with a goal to inspire innovation and make things easier to use. At the heart of it lies a passion for connecting with people.• Connecting with customers: Whether working on usability or ethnographic research, I observe and listen carefully to things both said and unsaid. Uncovering latent needs and understanding the root cause of frustration has allowed me to drive both enhancements and innovative new features.• Connecting with the team: I believe that strong collaboration with the product team results in the best ideas for improving the user experience. By including the team in the research process and communicating research results and recommendations in clear, compelling, and even innovative ways, I have successfully built a shared understanding of the user with many teams.Since earning a Masters in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, I have improved the usability of software, hardware products, mobile apps, and web sites, starting with conceptual exploration through product completion.My research experience includes heuristic evaluations, surveys, usability studies, ethnographic interviews, longitudinal studies, contextual inquiry, accessibility studies, and competitive assessments. My interaction design experience includes specifications, wireframes, storyboards, user stories, and basic prototypes.
