The Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (“MOCJ”) facilitates cooperation and partnerships among the agencies involved in crime-fighting and criminal justice in New York City. MOCJ serves as a liaison between the NYPD, the Departments of Corrections and Probation, the 5 District Attorney’s Offices, and other agencies and non-profits to help coordinate consistent city wide policy on criminal justice issues. Conducting background investigations into the qualifications, public records, criminal histories of ACP experts, interpreters and investigators who apply for inclusion on the expert roster Reviewing new applications for completeness and checking to make sure that experts have the necessary licensing and credentials for the category in which they seek to be qualified; this includes checking the qualifications, public records and criminal histories of those already on the expert roster, as well as, verifying the credentials of the court reporters and family court attorneys. Maintain and creating expert profiles in the online experts’ directory, which includes updating and keeping comprehensive files on experts, including copies of licenses, disciplinary records, and attorney evaluations. Meeting with Administrators to review findings and conducting follow-up investigatory work if necessary. Working with Department of finance staff at ACP to create and maintain vendor information in the NYC Controller’s financial Management Systems (FMS) Utilizing my proficiency and skills; Microsoft office 10, Lexis-Nexis, and understanding of many other databases, along with my skills in Internet research, successfully understanding the need for Organization, time-management and initiative, analytical, working independent and with a team, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, working well under pressure maintaining an enthusiastic work ethic.
