This was a one year leadership and education post around sustainability in healthcare and what it means for Health Education East of England, their students and trainees.

I represent the East of England on the national RCOG Trainees' Committee.The Trainees’ Committee is a forum for discussion of issues relevant to training in obstetrics and gynaecology as well as wider issues relevant to the profession. The Committee acts as a channel for communication between trainees and Council, and other relevant committees, including outside organisations. I sat on the RCOG Faculty Development Committee which was set up to develop a framework for the recognition of Trainers.

I set up the East of England Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trainees' Committee in 2011 to encourage trainee engagement and ensure the highest quality of training. We have representatives from every Trust in the region and participate in the Specialty Training Committee, School Board and Quality visit. We work closely with Consultants responsible for ATSMs, Education and Scanning.We believe strongly in the importance of positive feedback and at each meeting highlight good training experiences which are fed back to individuals, Trusts, STC and School Board.

One of two Senior Residents at the Trust. We worked closely with the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre, set up a Trainees Committee, held Trainee Forums and developed trainee participation in hospital committees.

The East of England Trainee Forum was established by the Postgraduate Dean in June 2011 as an opportunity to engage specialty and foundation trainees from all specialties in medical and dental training programmes throughout the East of England. The vision is to ensure the highest standards of education and training.
