Ophthalmic Technician
Currento Follow two retinal specialists to three locations in fast-paced environmentso Diagnostic testing such as Amsler Grid test, confrontational Visual Field (CVF), Relative Afferent Pupil Defect (RAPD) swing test, Dilation, Visual Acuity- near or distance, Pinholes, Tonography IOP Pressure, OCT (Mac, Angiography, 5-line raster, Optic Nerve) and Clarus Fundus (Color, FAF Blue, FAF Green, and Montage Images) o Accurately record all information in EMR system according to established standards and physician requirementso Assist physician with post-ops, B-Scans, Scatter, PRP, Focal, Pneumatic Retinopexy, Retinopexy and YAG lasero Send referrals, lab orders, prescription to pharmacy, input billing codes and prep injections for physiciano Triage and communicate with other departments to provide customer serviceo Handle multi-phone line, schedule appointments, respond to portal, and run emergent messages by physiciano Responsible of Specialty Medication for department- order medication, schedule delivery, stock or dispose expiredo Fax and mail medical record forms requested by patients or physician offices with confidentiality o Ensure department was fully stocked on needed supplies by creating inventory list and orderingo Maintain a clean office by disinfecting slit lamp, machines, and rooms.o Maintenance and use of autoclave- monthly/weekly cleans, spore test, sterilize speculums and instruments o Train new employees
