Senior Officer
CurrentAs a Senior Officer at the Travis County Sheriff's Department, I enforced rules and regulations governing facility security, inmate conduct, and inmate accountability and supervised inmates and inmate activity in detention facilities. In conducting my duty, I also provided care and correctional treatment of inmates, managed inmate holding areas, ensured that inmates remained in custody, transported and escorted inmates within secured areas according to relevant laws, policies, and procedures, contributed to the maintenance of institution security, performed searches on inmates and visitors, and checked mail for contraband, such as weapons or drugs.Additionally, I prepared incident reports and other documentation, conducted accurate headcounts, inventoried inmates’ personal property and issued receipts, broke up physical confrontations and protected inmates and fellow officers from harm, provided emergency assistance as needed, including but not limited to CPR, first aid, escape of inmates, and evacuation procedures.
