Hi! My name is Maria Sullivan. I am a sophomore student and Blue Sky Scholar at UNC Chapel Hill from Wilmington, NC. I am pursuing a double major in Journalism and Political Science and am a student in the Hussman School of Journalism.In High School, I was the editor-in-chief of the Yearbook and participated in a variety of non-profits. I am passionate about policy and school system reform and have been a tutor for over six years, including spearheading my own volunteer tutoring organization. I work as a Staff Writer for The Daily Tar Heel and serve as the Secretary of the Honors Carolina Student Association. I attended a summer writing intensive at The School of The New York Times, and have taken journalism classes in Florence, Italy.I am interested in sourcing out research and intern opportunities, especially revolving around Law, Journalism, and Political Science. I look forward to seeking out both similar and different opportunities on and off the UNC campus.
