As the Associate Director of Annual Giving and Parent Engagement I am currently responsible for the design and execution of programs to raise unrestricted funds from alumni and parents of the College as well as managing the volunteers associated with them. The programs include our Class Agent/Young Alumni solicitation program and Reunion Giving Program. I am also responsible for conducting face-to-face solicitations and stewardship of alumni and parents in support of Annual Giving priorities for the College, while evaluating and implementing new opportunities to involve alumni and parents in key initiatives of the college.

Albion College

Plan all aspects of more than 30 national, regional, and local college events for alumni, parents, students and friends with the purpose of improving engagement efforts. Event planning includes researching and identifying locations, selecting promotional materials/products, creation of invitations, communication with vendors, and overall management of the day of each event.Manage all logistical planning and execution for Homecoming (more than 500 participants). Assist with 13 class reunions, “Hall of Fame Award Ceremony” event (250 participants), and the “Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony” Luncheon (125 participants).Manage all aspects of Commencement, attended by more than 3,500 parents, students and family members of the graduates. Planned a private reception for 250 people, including the commencement speaker, Governor of Michigan Rick Snyder.Plan specialty events, including the “Grand Getaway” at the Mackinac Island Grand Hotel, “Churchill Downs” weekend, and “The Gerald R. Ford Maquette” unveiling at the Grand Rapids Ford Museum with Susan Ford Bales, daughter of President Gerald R. Ford.

Lansing, Michigan Area

Planned, implemented, and attended all caucus fundraising events; responsible for all logistics, invites, fundraising goals and follow up for a variety of events that raised between $5,000 and $300,000 each.Engaged members in caucus events and fundraising; managed financial records according to campaign finance laws for the Michigan House Democratic Fund, House Democratic Leader Richard Hammel’s Leadership Account, and the Quality of Life Fund.Created “call books” containing donor lists for members by district.Created finance plans for marginal members and candidates with routine follow-up to ensure fundraising goals were met accordingly.Trained and managed interns, incorporating them into daily fundraising initiatives and event staffing.

Jackson, Michigan Area

Responsible for all aspects of campaign organization, including fundraising, scheduling, and community engagement activities.Coordinated endorsements and personal thank you letters; canvassed parts of Jackson, Eaton, and Lenawee counties.

Lansing, Michigan Area

Assisted with statewide fundraising and event planning for the Michigan House Democratic Caucus; used the NGP online database software to track donations; assumed additional responsibilities including, administrative duties, and tracking office usage by the House Democratic Representatives and their staff.
