About Mariah E.

I have always been passionate about museums, science, and the integration of the two. I have four years of experience in museum collections, research, and member engagement and have extensive coursework on museum operations and issues. While my primary research interest is costume collections, I love all types of museums and love working with archives, scientific collections, and others. Moreover, I am very invested in some of the biggest issues facing the field today, including the role of museums post-COVID-19, public engagement, diversity and inclusion in museums, and repatriation. When not at work, I enjoy reading, rescuing animals, and discovering and recording my family's history.

As a Metadata Intern, I assisted with the Navigation Aids Project by undertaking a multifaceted role focused on enhancing discoverability and access to legislative branch materials, specifically the Statutes at Large collection, on loc.gov. My primary responsibilities encompassed metadata creation, editing, and review through the development of HTML structures for congressional navigation aids. In this capacity, I collaborated with a dedicated team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of metadata while contributing to the seamless progression of the project.
