Metadata Intern
CurrentAs a Metadata Intern, I assisted with the Navigation Aids Project by undertaking a multifaceted role focused on enhancing discoverability and access to legislative branch materials, specifically the Statutes at Large collection, on loc.gov. My primary responsibilities encompassed metadata creation, editing, and review through the development of HTML structures for congressional navigation aids. In this capacity, I collaborated with a dedicated team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of metadata while contributing to the seamless progression of the project. Through this experience, I honed my skills in remote task and time management, digital project execution, and gained proficiency in metadata principles and HTML coding. Moreover, I had the privilege of advocating for open-access research initiatives, furthering the accessibility of historical materials to a diverse audience. This internship not only provided me with valuable hands-on experience but also fostered a deeper understanding of the intersection between technology, information management, and public accessibility.
