My upbringing as an international adoptee in a small town in Nebraska has influenced my perspective of the world and sparked a passion in cultural migration, transnational relations, and community importance. Studying for my Bachelor's degree in Seattle, Washington, opened up more opportunities than I could have imagined. I volunteered to help Vietnamese immigrants establish themselves in a new country, worked in multiple industries where I developed a broad range of professional skills, and simply allowed myself space to create a version of myself that was my own to further understand who I really am.Finding the ultimate job and career that align with myself is on-going, however, I currently have interests in international diplomacy, cultural ambassadorship, and higher education administration, because I see the value and necessity of crossing borders to access better opportunities. These correlate to my cumulative years of experience as a counselor assistant in the Academic department at my undergraduate university, a cultural representative in the STARTALK (China) and Fulbright (Zambia) programs, and a volunteer English teacher at Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối. Supplemental interests include fine arts, animation, film editing, media curation, art commissioning, and sustainable architecture.As I start my new position at Seattle University as an Admissions Evaluator, I hope to take this opportunity to simultaneously continue my Fine Art Friends club that I established when I worked at the University of Zambia.
