As a U.S. Fulbright Alumna '22-'23 in Morocco at Université Cadi Ayyad - Faculté de Médicine et de Pharmacie de Marrakech (FMPM) and recent MSU Honors College graduate and commencement speaker '22 (Physiology, B.S.; Additional Major in French), I have spent extensive time conducting research on diabetic retinopathy using neuroelectrophysiology, and studying under-represented populations in healthcare. Having presented my work as a Dean’s Research Scholar and Wielenga Research Scholar in numerous conferences across the U.S., my current role as a Clinical Research Fellow at The National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIDDK) - Diabetes, Endocrinology, & Obesity Branch - is further exploring disparities in medicine by understanding how specific ethnic populations with the highest predicted incidence of Type II Diabetes and cardiovascular disease are impacted on a global scale. Through this work, I continue to pursue my passion of establishing equitable, representative, and accessible reforms in healthcare and education for marginalized populations in the francophone and MENA regions of the world.
