As a researcher during my Master's (Concordia University, 2016-2018) and doctorate (McGill University, 2018-2023), I oversaw two original research projects from concept to completion, and collaborated on two additional research teams. I have honed exceptional research skills in the field of education, with expertise in qualitative methodologies including critical action research, discourse analysis, and policy analysis. My areas of research interests include English language teaching and learning, immigration and integration in Canada, educational technology, and curriculum design and implementation. I have 5 years of experience as a language instructor to adult learners, and 1 year of experience as a language teacher trainer. I value relevant, personalized, learner-centered, activity-oriented learning. I thrive on connection. Connecting with people, connecting knowledge to practice, connecting with nature. Connection tells us about who we are and how we fit into the world around us.Fairness and justice are at the heart of my work. At the core of my research and teaching, I value equity, diversity, and justice. Especially as someone who has experienced privilege, I am whole-heartedly driven to use my voice and platform to spotlight often-unheard perspectives gained from empathy-based listening and ally-ship.
