Career Counselor
Current• Conducts an objective assessment of each participant's employment and training needs, including identifying barriers to employment, assessing supportive service’s needs, and determining interests and aptitudes• Enrolls tracks and maintains customer data in computerized tracking system• Ensures that participants complete required reading and math testing; determines each participant's need for more intensive services and refers to the Career Counselor II when appropriate• Develops individual goals with the participant• Conducts on-going case management specific to the needs of each participant• Refers participants, with a voucher, to vocational training, in house training and/or for job search training and assistance• Discusses individual needs of job seeker as they relate to the individual’s job search• Provides resource information regarding social services to participants and acts as an advocate when needed• Completes termination paperwork• Serves as a liaison with vocational institutions• Monitors worksites and subcontracted programs to ensure compliance• Trains subcontractors in determining eligibility, enrollment and termination procedures
