The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (or the Award) is the world’s leading youth achievement award, equipping young people for life and work. It enables young people aged 14 to 24 to actively use their free time and equipping them with life skills to make a difference to themselves, their communities and the world.The programme was founded in 1956 by Prince Philip, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh together with Kurt Hahn, a German educationalist and renowned promoter of experience learning, and Lord Hunt, leader of the first successful ascent of Everest. In more than 130 countries around the world, 13 millions young people participated in the Award. Since the end of 2014, a team of education enthusiasts with strong support from business leaders established the National office of the Award in Slovakia. After more than 7 years, we grew the Award from 2 international schools to 217 all across Slovakia and by the end of 2021 we were able to train more than 1 100 volunteers who offer the Award to more than 6 500 young people from all the socio-economic backgrounds. During the first 7 years, 16 000+ young people participated and 5 000+ completed their Award in Slovakia. We continue further as we want to offer the Award to reach 3% of young people aged 14 - 24 years.

Member of the founding team which is building a world-class secondary school(s) in Slovakia focused on leadership, character development and civic engagement. In charge of evidence based approach in decision-making including: costs and revenues of high-school(s), parental preferences for high-school choice and number of schools. Co-founded and created the vision, design and implementation (entire life-cycle) of 7 simultaneous identification & development programs for high-school students including:1. LEAF Summer Leadership Camp, international 2-week summer program for talented high school students (since 2013). In 2014 led more than 60 people including students (27 selected students from 88 applicants from 3 continents), mentors, facilitators, co-facilitators and Camp staff. 2. TalentGuide, mentoring program for talented high-school students in Slovakia. Was leading between 2013 and 2014 core LEAF team of 5, 28 mentors and 28 students (selected from 157 applicants). 55 alumni of both programs in 2014 were satisfied on average on 95% and 100% would recommend program to other students. Co-created partnerships with local and international organizations focusing on the excellence, civic engagement, leadership and character development (e.g. Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University or United World Colleges).
